Ronald Piper asked:

You might have spent plenty of money on your golf clubs and balls, but it is also important to have the right golf bags to carry your equipment in. Most golfers don’t have the benefits of a caddy like the professionals, and it can be a long way around the course. Choosing golf bags that can carry all your equipment easily and are comfortable and easy to move around is important. Also, you want a golf bad that looks good and reflects your style and personality on the course. The wrong golf bags will leave you struggling to find and move your equipment, and perhaps even damaging your clubs or balls. If you want to know how to pick the best golf bags for your equipment, then here are some tips to get you started.

Right or left handed?

Although it might not seem to matter whether you are right or left handed when buying a bag, things are a little different when looking at golf bags. If you are right handed then it is probably not an issue, as most bags are designed for right handed players. However, there are left handed bags on the market as well. If you are left handed then choose one of these bags, as you will then have the pockets and padding on the correct side, making it easier for you to carry around your equipment as you play.

Cart or stand?

Most golf bags require you to carry the bag around with you on your shoulder. However, there are two major types of bags. Those that go in a cart or trolley, and those that stand on the ground. If you are being taken around in a golf cart more often than not, a cart trolley bag is a good option. These bags can be carried around, but can also be easily placed in a golf cart to allow easy transportation. For those walking around the course, then choose a bag that has a stand with it, so that you bag remains upright and usable wherever you are on the course. A stand will also stop your bag from resting on the ground and getting dirty in bad weather. There are bags which combine both functions for those who play on different courses and in different environments.

The right bag

Whatever type of bag you choose, make sure that it has a comfortable carrying strap and that it is sturdy and well made. Also, make sure that you can easily get to all of your equipment in the bag whenever you need to, and that it is all securely stored. There is nothing worse than having to fumble around for golf balls or having clubs fall out of your bag. If you pick the right bag then you will make transporting and using your golf equipment much easier.

Does it make sense to carry a 3 hybrid and a 5 wood in your golf bag?

legalman asked:

I recently purchased a set of irons and rather than a 3 iron it came with a 3 hybrid. I need to know if I should still carry a 5 wood with me or if this is now replaced?
Also, if your saying I should not get a 5 wood and instead carry a 3 wood, what about a 7 wood? Thoughts on having one of those too?

The Importance Of Golf Bags

Darlene Berkel asked:

Golf is a very ‘gear heavy’ sport - if you want to play golf using your own kit instead of renting from the course, then you should expect to have to spend a lot of money. One of the biggest expenses is your clubs, so it is natural that you will want to take good care of them.

Golf bags can be used to keep your clubs safe - some of them have extra compartments to hold golf balls, clothing, and perhaps some refreshments for while you are out on the course.

Choosing Golf Bags

If you are interested in getting a golf bag for yourself, then all you really have to do is head out to the nearest golf supply store, as they will have a great selection of bags for you to choose from, however you may want to take some time and look around a couple stores so that you can find the best deals and thus get the best worth for your money.

Take some time to try out a few bags and select one that you are happy with. There are lots of bags available, and you will need to find one that you are comfortable with, and that can hold your gear. A good store will give you as much time as you need to pick out the bag that is right for you.

If possible, take a fellow golfer with you so that you can get some thoughts from them about which bags look good on you, and perhaps some thoughts about brands that they are familiar with.

If you can do some research online this may help you make the best choice - you could even try some bags out in a store then order online if you can get a better price from a golf web site. It is best to only buy online from well known companies, however. If the price offered on a web site is too good to be true, then it probably is. Try to shop safely, and go for a brand and company that you can trust.

I want to use the rain hood so my clubs dont go sliding around in the car trunk, so I’d basically never take it off when I use the bag. Is this going to be an issue of wear?

Selecting A Golf Bag

Friday, June 13th, 2008

Cathy Peterson asked:

There are many golf players, playing either part-time or professionally. All of them require a golf bag to carry all their golf accessories. Golf bags are manufactured by a number of companies. Each of these bags varies in color, shape, size and quality. The prices of these bags are also different. A golf player must select his golf bag depending on the number of golf accessories he is going to carry with him. Hence, the price of the bag with also differs depending on the size and quality of the material used in the manufacture of the bag.

Golf bags can be purchased on the internet also. There are a number of websites selling golf accessories. These websites also sell golf bags for carrying the accessories. Apart from these, there are also some online bag stores which sell golf bags. However, you do not want to end up a lot of money on purchase of your golf bag. You need a bag which is of good quality and also cost effective at the same time.

Discount offers on golf bags can be found if you do some research on it. There are a few golf bags at very cheap prices. But these may not be of good quality. In the end, though cheap, the bag may end up coming apart as it is of bad quality. There are some companies and stores which offer good quality bags at reasonable prices. Hence, you must be careful to identify these cheap golf bags from the good quality ones being offered on discount.

If golf bags are being sold at a discount, then you can suspect two main things. They may have either failed the quality control test or they may have been scrapped by the company. In any case, you have to check out for both these flaws when you purchase a golf bag at a discount. Also enquire from the sales person as to why a discount is being offered on the golf bag. Partly damaged golf bags are also sold at a discount.

Another way to get discounts on golf bag purchases is to watch out for the release of a new brand of golf bags. When a new brand is released, golf bags of the older brands are disposed off at cheaper prices. In this case, proper bargaining can help you obtain the golf bag at very cheap prices.

What kind of golf bag and balls to buy?

igotyourbackkid asked:

I want to use these things to play high school golf. I’d like to get brand name things if possible. Currently I am leaning toward the Callaway Big Bertha golf balls ($20). For the bag I am thinking of the Callaway Warbird XTT Double Strap Stand Bag or Callaway Mini Looper Stand Bag (both $90). What do you think about those decisions? I only want to spend about $110 or so for both bag and balls.
Also, how many golf balls are in a box?

The Basics On Golf Bags

Max Johnson asked:

Are you looking to get some more exercise while you are playing golf? Many golfers do this by using a carry bags or stand golf bags. As the number of walking rounds increase, golf stand bags are the majority of all of golf bag sales.

Over the past few years, the manufacturers have been able to use different materials for the bags as well as to develop better bag strap technology to make many light-weight stand bags. Today, many of the total weight of these light-weight golf carry bags are around three and a half pounds.

In the late 70’s, nylon was first used to make carry bags lighter than their predecessors. Not long after, Sun Mountain Sports introduced the Eclipse model. The eclipse model was special because it was the first bag that you could carry with a stand. When the golf bag is placed on the ground, spring activated legs would pop out and into place to support the bag. In 1996 and 1997, the sales of golf stand bags increased by forty five percent and have basically made a stand on all carry bags standard equipment.

Although the consumer wants their golf bag to be durable and fashionable, they are also demanding that they are also light as possible. Again, the current light-weight stand bags weigh give or take three and a half pounds. Today ballistic nylon, rich polyesters as well as woven twills are the materials being used to satisfy the consumer.

PGA Professional Stuart Lambert states “Today the manufacturers are not only looking for new fabrics to please their customers. In addition, you will see better systems to divide your clubs and to make it easier to get golf clubs in and out of stand golf bags.”

Depending on what part of the country and how often you have the opportunity to play golf, most golfers are in the market every three to four years for a new golf carry bag. Options to consider for your next golf bag would include: full-length dividers, pocket configuration, weight and price range.

Advice from Stuart Lambert includes “While trying the golf bag on in the store, place a set of irons and a couple of woods into the bag. In addition, do not be shy and adjust the straps to fit your body. This will give you the true feel of the actual weight that you will be carrying while on the golf course.”

Golf Bags for the beginner

J. Brian Keith asked:

Current info about Golf Bags is not always the easiest thing to locate. Fortunately, this report includes the latest info about Golf Bags available.

It seems like new information is discovered about something every day. And the topic of weight loss Success is no exception. Keep reading to get more fresh news about weight loss Success.

You might be a golf beginner looking for your first set of golf clubs and equipment or a pro shopping for upgrades, but all will agree that golf bags are essential in the game. Next to golf clubs, a golf bag is one of the most important golfing equipment there is.

It is considered a necessity. A good golf bag will lessen your worries on the golf course, (i.e. all your clubs are in their proper place) and you can focus on your teeing.

If you’re a beginner golfer, then golf bags are definitely a must. However, there are things that you should know before going to the nearest golf store and buying a golf bag on impulse. First, there are two types of golf bags? carry bags and cart bags.

Carry bags are golf bags that are used when you are planning to have a lot of walking on the golf course. Cart golf bags are those that you use when walking is not possible (as some golf courses prohibit walking), and riding a golf cart is your option. A beginner golfer will most definitely buy a walking bag at first, although if you are a serious beginner of the game, then you will eventually buy both types of golf bags.

If you are a newbie in the game, you might ask “What is a golf bag for? I only have four golf clubs.” A golf bag is a functional equipment rather than a fashion statement. It is not just for your golf clubs, but it can also hold your other golf equipment and accessories. Some advanced golf bags even have pocket coolers that can keep your drink ice-cold even for hours! You might want to consider that, especially when you will buy a carry golf bag.

When buying a golf bag, especially a carry golf bag, find a comfortable one. One should check the straps to see if it fits comfortably and whether it can be carried easily. Remember that your golf bag will be one of your trusted companions on the greens, and that you will spend hours with it. So choose wisely. Don’t buy low quality bags, because you will end up purchasing another bag in the next few months if your old golf bag tears up. You should also buy your golf bag depending on the number of golf clubs that you have. Most golf bags can carry up to 15 golf clubs. A tournament however limits the number of golf clubs in your golf bag.

Another important thing to consider when purchasing a golf bag is its weight. This is one of the most important things to know. Golf bags should be light enough to be carried or carted easily, but sturdy enough to hold your clubs and protect them. Some golf bags are even water resistant, and are rain proofed for the protection of your clubs. Most of these golf bags have 8 or 9 dividers or pockets. Again, the number of dividers that you will need depend on the amount of clubs and accessories you will carry. If you have many golf clubs then choose a golf bag with many dividers. However, these types of golf bags have the tendency to be heavier. Some bags can weigh less than 5 pounds! These types of bags are made up of space-age materials such as graphite, however, they more expensive.

Remember that when buying golf bags, the lighter it is, the better and more comfortable it will be.

Take time to consider the points presented above. What you learn may help you overcome your hesitation to take action.
